The Port Adelaide Logistics Center required the construction of a massive, ultra-flat structural slab capable of supporting extreme heavy-duty racking systems and automated robotic forklifts. A variance of even a few millimeters in the floor level would render the automated systems inoperable. Furthermore, the sheer scale of the 50,000-square-meter facility meant that temperature control and lighting efficiency were monumental tasks. The geographic location, prone to high winds and industrial corrosive elements, demanded a highly resilient exterior envelope. Finally, the project had to be completed under a highly compressed schedule to meet the tenant's critical global supply chain rollout deadlines.
ENO Build & Investment utilized laser-screed concrete pouring technology coupled with continuous 3D topographical scanning to achieve a super-flat floor tolerance (FM1 specification), completely eliminating operational risks for automated machinery. We constructed the exterior using advanced insulated tilt-up concrete panels, providing rapid erection times, exceptional durability against corrosive sea air, and superior thermal mass to regulate interior temperatures naturally. We outfitted the expansive roof with a multi-megawatt solar array and intelligent LED lighting systems that adjust based on natural light availability, drastically reducing operational overhead. To meet the aggressive timeline, we implemented a 24/7 continuous construction cycle using dual shifts and off-site prefabrication for all internal steel structures.
Delivered exactly on the demanding timeline, the Port Adelaide Logistics Center stands as one of the most technologically advanced distribution hubs in South Australia. The precision of the flooring allowed the tenant to deploy their robotic fleet immediately upon handover with zero recalibration delays.
